Birth of a New World
‘Birth of a New World’ was painted when I lived in Australia and subsequently completed in Scotland. The energy of Australia and my connection with the land can be seen and felt in this painting. ‘Birth of a New World’ symbolises the continuum of planetary and species evolution, as our planet is scoured by fires, shaken by earthquakes, drowned by floods and pollution; the cycles of death (completion) and birth (regeneration),never end. A new world bursts from the womb of this current world. Sprouting green leaves and buds represent new life and the ever-flowing water, continuous change and evolution.
Frequency: Cycles of birth and death – completion, renewal, regeneration, release of the old to make way for the new, integration, birth.
Media: Acrylics, pastels, recycled glass, diamanté, Swarovski crystal, metallic pen, hot glue on canvas.
